AutoAtlas DTC Application Research Layer

Explains source, verification and publication boundaries used to research DTCs in brand and platform context.

What this layer does

It records that the same DTC may carry different definitions, subcodes, test plans or TSB context by manufacturer. A service example from one brand is never automatically applied to another.

Publication gate

  • Generic code definition is separated from brand/vehicle service examples.
  • VIN, build date, engine and transmission identity are stated when required.
  • No fabricated torque, pressure, pin or part numbers are published.

Source classes

Manufacturer service bulletins and technical publications, public regulator records, OEM product technical documents and trusted technical references are retained with provenance.
