Why does it feel mysterious?
Many faults are not static. Heat, moisture, load, vibration, network sleep/wake state or shared power can make the symptom disappear during testing.
How do you prove it?
Capture freeze-frame, supply voltage, voltage drop, waveform, network state and temperature/load at the moment of failure. Look for a repeatable relationship before replacing parts.
Diagnostic trap
Treating a DTC label as the failed part is a common mistake. The code usually describes a circuit or monitor; root cause may be wiring, mechanics, another module or operating conditions.
