Battery health and event context
- Resting voltage alone is not a capacity test. Consider battery type, SOC, temperature and load behavior.
- Separate low-voltage DTC events from false sensor/network conclusions.
Charging system
- Compare alternator/smart-charging command with actual voltage/current under load.
- On vehicles with BMS/IBS, target voltage may intentionally vary.
Parasitic drain and sleep
- Do not interpret current before the vehicle has entered sleep. Track module wake events over time.
- Pulling fuses can wake modules; application-appropriate voltage-drop or current-clamp methods may be preferable.

- Measure positive and ground voltage drop during cranking and other high-load conditions.
