No communication starts with power verification

  • Failure to reach a module does not prove module failure. Check fuses, relays, constant/ignition power, grounds and wake lines.
  • Use the wiring diagram to verify which supplies should be active under each condition.

Measure under load

  • Power or ground can look normal unloaded and develop excessive voltage drop while the module operates.
  • Continuity on an unplugged module may not represent real operating load.

Separate shared causes

  • Low battery voltage, charging problems or a shared ground can create simultaneous faults across many ECUs.
